HBO trailer for ‘Quad Gods’, a documentary about a quadriplegic esports team

“I lost one identity and the ‘real me’ emerged.” HBO is Documentary Films title Quad Godthe director’s feature film debut Jess JacklinThe film premiered at the 2024 TriBeCa Film Festival in New York last month and will be available for everyone to watch by streaming on Max in late July. Quad God The film follows the lives of a group of quadriplegics in New York who meet at the Neurorehabilitation Lab at Mount Sinai Hospital and form the world’s first all-quadriplegic esports team. Richard, breakand Prentiss The film follows two young esports team members — the world’s first all-quadriplegic team — as they navigate life in New York, fight ableism, and pursue their dreams of competing as athletes. Tribeca adds in the description, “Offering a unique perspective on both gaming and disability, this compelling story challenges conventional assumptions and shines a spotlight on resilience, passion, and community.” It sounds fun. It’s an inspiring story. And these guys are real gamers.
