“Why did it become so terrible?” Australian Madman has released the first trailer for the highly acclaimed film. tatamipremiered at the 2023 Venice Film Festival last year. It was met with rave reviews and critical acclaim. It has yet to be released in the United States, but it is confirmed to be released in Europe in late 2024 after screening at the Gothenburg Film Festival. In the middle of the Judo World Championships, Iranian female judo player Leyla and her coach Mariam receive an ultimatum from the Iranian Republic, ordering Leyla to fake an injury and lose so that she will not be considered a traitor to the nation. A tense political thriller that one director described as “a creative message to the world as thousands of innocent Iranian citizens sacrifice their lives for freedom.” Starring Arianne Mandy, Zahr Amir Ebrahimi, Jamie Ray Newmanand Ash GolderPresented in black and white 4:3 (Academy ratio), it creates a powerful cinematic atmosphere.
