Pakistani actress Sarwat Geelani recently opened up about her battle with postpartum depression and how her husband supported her throughout the journey. In an interview, Pakistani actor ARY Digital She said she wanted to hurt her newborn because she couldn’t handle the feelings of postpartum depression. She said, “That’s when I learned what postpartum depression really was. I met my baby four days later in the hospital because I had a major surgery. She was struggling to drink milk and so was I. So, I felt like I had to let her go to get rid of the stress I was feeling. I went to the room. On entering, I told Fahadh that I was crying for the newborn and that these were the postpartum blues.

He further added, “So, it’s okay and it’s not your permanent feeling. Therefore, you need to realize that the strange feeling you have is not yours. It’s just a mental state you go through. So, you should read more about postpartum depression to understand it better. Anything can happen to a person at that point.

On the work front, Sarwat made his film debut with the Pakistani telefilm – Shaadi aur tum se. Sarwat became a household name for Saim Sadiq’s parent Thiru Joyland. Sarwat married cosmetology surgeon and actor Fahad Mirza in August 2014. The couple has two sons – Rohan Mirza and Araiz Muhammad Mirza and a daughter.
