Despicable Me 4 Movie Review Summary:
Despicable Me 4 There is a story about a man trying to protect his family. Gru (Steve Carell) attends his 1985 batch reunion party at his alma mater, Lycée Pas Bon. However, Gru didn’t just go to socialize with his classmates and have a good time. He is sent there by the Anti-Villain League (AVL) to arrest Maxime Le Mall. Will Ferrell), who turned into an insect and has dangerous plans. After much difficulty, Gru, minions and AVS representatives manage to capture Maxime. Maxime is in prison and still manages to escape. Before escaping, he sends a message to Gru that he will take revenge on him and his family. Silas Ramsbottom (Steve Coogan), a retired AVS director who has returned for this mission, asks Gru and his family to move into a safe house in a sleepy, upscale town called Mayflower. Gru, his wife Lucy (Kristen Wiig) and children are given a new identity and profession. They struggle to adapt to the new environment. Trouble ensues when Gru’s neighbor Poppy Prescott (Joey King), an aspiring villain, recognizes Gru and begins blackmailing him. Maxime, on the other hand, moves through heaven and earth to find Gru. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Despicable Me 4 Movie Story Review:
The story of Mike White and Ken Daurio is fantastic. Mike White and Ken Daurio’s screenplay is filled with plenty of fun and crazy scenes that fans of the franchise will love. The dialogues are funny.

Chris Reno’s direction is simple and has a few pluses. For starters, the movie is only 95 minutes long, and yet there’s a lot going on. Several paths run simultaneously – Gru tries to blend in to a new town, Maxime tries to find Gru, the kids adjust to their new life, Lucy struggles at work, the neighbor’s kid adds to Gru’s woes, etc. There is also a minion trail. Actually, the latter doesn’t exactly drive the narrative. But still, they are the lifeblood of this series and contribute to its success. Several scenes stand out, such as Maxime’s arrest, chasing Lucy in the supermarket, Gru’s younger child being scared in the car, Gru’s robbery in the second half, etc.

On the other side, the climax is down. The fight with the villain could have been longer. Also, the villain’s path ends abruptly. The singing competition scene is great, but the film doesn’t end on a high because of it.

Despicable Me 4 Movie Review Performances:
Steve Carell’s voice is very entertaining, as expected. After Will Ferrell comes Joey King. Kristen Wiig, Stephen Colbert (Perry Prescott) and Chloe Fineman (Patsy Prescott) do well. Sofia Vergara (Valentina) is a failure; A lot is expected from him, but his character hardly takes the line. Finally, Pierre Coffin is very cute as the voice of the Minions.

Despicable Me 4 Movie Review Music and other technical aspects:
Pharrell Williams’ music is fun, especially the singing “double life”. Heitor Pereira’s background score amps up the entertainment quotient. The animation is top notch and the makers have even worked on the 3D element. Tiffany Hillkurtz’s editing is sharp.

Despicable Me 4 Movie Review Conclusion:
Overall, DeSPICABLE ME 4 lives up to the expectations of fans of the series. At the box office, the film could surprise and emerge as the franchise’s highest grosser.
