Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who is currently promoting his new web series Bad Cop, shared some surprising news during a recent interview. Kashyap, who also did acting duties in the series, revealed a past incident that landed him in jail for a night.

A night behind bars for an accident

In a conversation with Samai Raina on his YouTube channel, the filmmaker admitted, “Yes, I went to jail. I hit the wrong person. You shouldn’t hit someone. I spent one night in jail. The person who put me in. I’m the same guy in jail who changed my life completely.

While Kashyap refrained from divulging specific details of the incident, his co-star Gulshan Devaiah and an interviewer expressed surprise upon hearing the news. It should be noted here that this is not the first time when Anurag talks about meeting with law enforcement officers.

When Anurag Kashyap was in Saudi Arabia

Last year, while promoting his film Almost PR with DJ MohabatKashyap recalled another incident Unfiltered Samdhi. He described being arrested for public intoxication in Saudi Arabia. The filmmaker explained how a canceled flight due to volcanic ash and exhaustion forced him to drink wine in an airport lounge. He then boarded a plane heavily intoxicated and was arrested upon landing in Saudi Arabia.

Getting on the professional front, Anurag Kashyap’s recent projects go beyond his acting role in Bad Cop. He also appeared in a Tamil film MaharajaStarring Vijay Sethupathi.
