Actor Imran Khan, who is about to return to Bollywood, spoke about the aftermath of his divorce with ex-wife Avantika Malik. In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, the actor said that he went through a terrible period after the breakup.

She said: “When I broke up in 2019, I was at my weakest – emotionally and physically. I would say I would describe it as human bark. Brushing my teeth and taking a shower was a monumental request. I didn’t know if I could do it, I couldn’t even get out of bed, I would stay in my pajamas, ring the bell, lock the door and just vegetate.

“I had parental responsibilities, we shared custody from Thursday to Sunday, my daughter would be with me. So on the days he’s with me, it doesn’t matter how weak I feel, you have to go out there no matter what,” she added.

Imran Khan confirmed his relationship with Lekha Washington a few months ago. In an interview with Vogue in March, Imran acknowledged his relationship with Lekha Washington and corrected the narrative that his girlfriend was perceived as a “home wrecker”. Imran Khan told Vogue: “The speculation that I’m romantically involved with Lekha Washington is true. I’ve been divorced and separated since February 2019.” She added, “There’s this narrative about Lekha’s domesticity that annoys me because not only is it misogynistic, but it also takes away my agency as an individual.”

Imran discussed his relationship with Lekha and how it started, saying, “Lekha and I became close during the lockdown, a year and a half after I broke up with Avantika and almost a year after she broke up with her partner, not her husband. It was widely reported.”

Imran Khan appeared in films like As Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, I Hate Luv Stories, Break Ke Baad, Delhi Bellyand Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. Lekha has appeared in Telugu and Tamil films.
