Director Mike Flanagan’s Hush is finally getting a physical release in the media [ATX Festival]

Many of us, in fact, were waiting. Even when “Hush” was on Netflix, plenty of physical media collectors like me would have appreciated the chance to own the film on Blu-ray. Fortunately, Flanagan now has the opportunity to take matters into his own hands. It seems like he’s going all out too. After all, we are talking about the man he was happy that his show “Midnight Mass” was pirated and released on Blu-ray by bootleggers. The man is busy in the middle.

For those who may not be familiar with it, “Hush” stars Kate Siegel and John Gallagher Jr. A very isolated film, centering on a deaf writer who retreats into the woods to live a solitary life and must fight for her life when a masked killer appears in its window. It was met with widespread praise upon its release, but unfortunately never caught fire like some horror films do. It has developed something of a cult following in the years since its release.

As for the Blu-ray and streaming release details Flanagan teased, we’ll have to wait. Maybe he struck a deal with a boutique company like Arrow Video or Scream Factory? Given the special features he says he’s been working on, something like this seems like a safe bet. Let’s hope he doesn’t make us wait too long to find out.

There’s no word yet on a release date for “Hush” on disc, but stay tuned because we’ll definitely know more soon.
