Alan Amin is one of the most famous action directors in the country. He scored with fight scenes not only in cool action movies like Home Hoon Na, Dhoom, Dus, etc., but also in complex realistic films Satya, the bandit queen, etc.. in an exclusive interview Bollywood HungamaAlan Amin explains what has gone wrong in Bollywood lately.

EXCLUSIVE: Acting director Alan Amin slams action in today’s Hindi films: “It seems fake. In Dhoom, I made Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham fight in the trailer. The same sequence was copied in Patan starring Shah Rukh Khan and John.

It is said that people are tired of watching smooth action. It is also said to be one of the reasons why the action took place Bade Mian Chote Mian It didn’t impress people. Do you feel the same way?
Yes, because garbage is displayed in the name of the action. When you overdo it, you only have to do it a little bit. This is what I did Dhum 2 (2006). I Hrithik Roshan jumped from a helicopter onto a moving train. Before filming the series, I said to the basejumper: “Jump down the train and show me.” He was trying to jump and touch his feet in the train. That’s when I realized it’s possible. And only after that we went on stage. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have made the scene.

Gadar 2 and an animalMeanwhile, it worked because the action was more raw. Do you think people liked it?
Yes, of course. Those two movies worked because no one was flying in the air.

Our creators should follow suit Mission impossible And see how they do it. Is Tom Cruise stupid for hanging himself out of a plane? Will our actors be up to it? If not, then at least follow what they are doing.

There is also a trend of getting foreign action directors…
These trends have always been there. Sometimes, we let foreigners do the work. Sometimes they sign foreign cinematographers.

But the problem is that filmmakers sometimes copy and paste. In the war (2019), they were inspired Fast and furious and other films. They are creatorsAapne ye us movie my Kia hithe same cheese muje carque do’. Therefore, the creators do not have innovative ideas.

Tell us about the days when actors did their own stunts…
There were actors like Akshay Kumar who could do stunts. I hung it under a helicopter and crashed it into cars in a movie called Ashaanth (1993). And he did it very well. Even today, he’ll open his iPad and show you this scene!

He also did a risque scene on a plane Visible 420 (2000)…
If he could do it then, he could do it now. But you need to conceptualize such a sequence. Nowadays, it’s all done against a blue screen. Also, the content should be there.

Tell us about your journey and how you got into this line…
My father was an action director, Gunn. At first I was more into racing. I used to ride motorcycles as a hobby. He said to me: “Why are you riding a bicycle? You come and do tricks for us. Hence, I started doing stunts and also pursued a somewhat racing career.

What was your first movie?
I started with that in the morning (1990) and Beta (1992). I cycled to a bus and a truck in the morning. In BetaWe shot the “Well of Death” scene.

At the same time, you also worked in a similar film Satya (1998)…
There were no cables in those days. So the action was very realistic in that movie. I followed two types of genres in action. One was the all-out type and the other was realistic action. Satya It fell into the latter category, and it did Sarkar series and company (2002).

Which of the films are you proud of?
There are many of them, but one film stands out Bandit Queen (1994). Newspapers in Great Britain wrote about me and the action in the film in my reviews. They wrote that the action in this film has to be seen to be believed.

What is a recent movie that impressed you with its action?
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One. This is real action, not one where you run and jump across a green screen. It looks fake. In DhumiI compared Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham to the trailer. The same sequence was copied PataanStarring Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. It was a bus instead of a truck. It was the same, but it didn’t reach the level Dhumi. If you show a scene to a child Dhumi and then PataanHe would even say “they (Pataan‘s makers) could have been at least a little bit real’.

We can’t see your work nowadays. Why is that?
I slowed down a bit. how much will i work 40 years have passed since I started working.

Any final thoughts?
Please follow me Mission impossibleAction to get our industry recognized. even inside Mission impossible, they move upward with action. But it looks real and doable. We make things impossible. For example, Shah Rukh and Johnny are flying in the air Pataan. How is that possible? Tell me one sequence Mission impossible Where you feel “this is impossible”. It may not be possible for you, but it is possible for Tom Cruise. That’s why I look at it. It actually hangs outside the Burj Khalifa. Doing stunts at this age is unimaginable. even inside Fast & FuriousEvery action scene you see is possible.
