“The Unwanted” France’s Les Films du Losange has released a first-look trailer (with English text) for their latest unique film. Leos Carax Movie title That’s not meIt will premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and be released in France this June. The 41-minute biographical short documentary is “a self-portrait of the director and his work, a free-form retrospective of the auteur’s filmography of over 40 years.” The autobiography looks back at all his films and works, examining politics and the art form of cinema through the ages. Intro: “For an exhibition that never took place, the Pompidou Museum asked the filmmaker to answer the question “Leos Carax, where are you?” with a photograph. He attempts an answer full of questions. About himself and “his” world. “I don’t know, but if I knew, I would answer like this…” That’s not me or That’s not meThe film stars Denise Lavant, Katerina Yuspina, Loretta Juodkaite, Anna-Isabelle Siefken, Nastya Golubeva-Carax, Petr Anevsky, and Bianca Maddalno.
